A topical anti-aging peptide that tells skin to make more collagen, a gentler alternative (or partner) to retinol for fine lines.
This is a topical cosmetic ingredient: you formulate it into a serum and apply it, you don’t inject it.
What It Does
Matrixyl (palmitoyl pentapeptide / Matrixyl 3000-type peptides) signals dermal fibroblasts to increase collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic-acid synthesis, smoothing fine lines and improving firmness.
Works by mimicking collagen-breakdown fragments that trigger repair.

Storage
- Powder: -4°F.
- Mixed serum: 36–46°F; preserve if stored >1–2 weeks.
- Protect from light.
- DIY formulators keep a mixed, preserved Matrixyl serum about ~4–6 weeks refrigerated and dark (longer in a store-bought preserved base); that's DIY-skincare convention, not published stability data.
Side effects
Minimal, occasional mild irritation. Among the gentlest anti-aging actives.
