MGF

Mechano Growth Factor, a splice variant of IGF-1 your muscles release when damaged by training. It tells satellite (stem) cells to multiply and repair the muscle. Native MGF lasts only minutes, so it’s injected straight into the worked muscle right after training.

Overview

Mechano Growth Factor, a splice variant of IGF-1 your muscles release when damaged by training.

It tells satellite (stem) cells to multiply and repair the muscle.

Native MGF lasts only minutes, so it’s injected straight into the worked muscle right after training.

What It Does

MGF (IGF-1Ec) activates muscle satellite cells, driving proliferation and local repair/hypertrophy after mechanical damage.

Its half-life is only ~5–7 minutes, so it must be injected locally into the target muscle within minutes of the last set.

For systemic/longer action, use the pegylated version (PEG-MGF).

Reconstitution Calculator

Enter the vial amount and diluent volume to calculate concentration. If you already have a target amount, you can also convert it to liquid volume and syringe markings. This tool does not recommend a target amount.

Calculated concentration—Enter both values above.
Optional conversion

Enter a target amount you already have and select the syringe capacity.

Calculated draw—Enter concentration inputs and a target amount.

Mathematical reference only. The calculator does not determine an appropriate target amount. Syringe capacity only changes the maximum volume that fits.

Protocol

PhaseFrequencyAmountNotes
Training daysPost-workout200–400 mcgIM directly into the trained muscle within 5–10 min of the last set (half-life is minutes).
Off days––No benefit off training days for native MGF, the stimulus is the workout.
Cycle & Timing

run during training blocks, 6–8 weeks, then break.

Timing

immediately post-workout, local to the worked muscle; this is the whole point of native (non-PEG) MGF. Note: if you want a wider dosing window or systemic effect, use PEG-MGF instead.

Population Considerations

A local IGF-1 splice variant, like the GH axis, women may respond at a slightly lower dose. Efficacy contested; avoid in pregnancy.

Handling & Stacking

Injection site
IM, into the specific trained muscle. Rotate within the muscle.
Storage
  • Freeze-dried: -4°F.
  • Reconstituted: 36–46°F, best used within ~2–3 weeks (structure-based estimate), away from light; a small linear peptide with no PEG shielding, so slightly shorter than the default.
Side effects
Usually minimal, local soreness. Theoretical IGF-class concerns at high/systemic exposure.
What to expect
  • Enhanced local recovery and hypertrophy in the trained muscle over a training block.
  • Effects are local and modest, not dramatic.
  • Supply math 2mg → 4 vials (8-wk @ 200 mcg, ~4 training days/wk)
Pairs well with
PEG-MGF (systemic complement); IGF-1 LR3 (satellite-cell synergy); CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin (GH-axis recovery); Wolverine Blend (BPC-157 + TB-500)
Avoid
Active malignancy (IGF-class growth signaling). Injecting non-locally for native MGF (wastes it)

Safety & Patient Education

Contraindications
Active malignancy of any kind (IGF-1 variant, growth-promoting) Pregnancy and lactation Hypersensitivity to the peptide
Warnings
  • Efficacy is contested, a rigorous two-lab replication (Fornaro 2014) found the MGF peptide failed to affect muscle-cell proliferation or differentiation, questioning whether it has a real physiological effect.
  • Treat benefits as unproven.
  • IGF-family growth signaling, theoretical tumor-promotion concern Local, short-acting; benefit is limited to the injected muscle Limited human data; quality varies, request a COA
Drug interactions
No well-characterized interactions Stacks with GH-axis and repair peptides, mind cumulative IGF signaling
Labs
  • IGF-1 if used heavily or stacked with GH-axis peptides Age-appropriate cancer screening if used long-term Out of range?
  • If you stack it with GH-axis peptides, IGF-1 above your age range = too much growth signal → back off.
Stop criteria
New mass or unexplained tissue growth Persistent injection-site reaction Pregnancy
Patient education
Inject locally and immediately post-workout, the short half-life makes timing everything Effects are local and modest; pair with PEG-MGF for a wider window Avoid with active cancer due to growth signaling Report new lumps or persistent injection-site reactions
