Longevity and Bioregulators

THYMALIN

A thymus-gland peptide bioregulator (Khavinson). The thymus, where T-cells mature, shrinks with age; Thymalin is used in short annual courses to support immune function and healthy aging. Different from Thymosin Alpha-1 (a single defined peptide); Thymalin is a thymic peptide complex.

Overview

A thymus-gland peptide bioregulator (Khavinson).

The thymus, where T-cells mature, shrinks with age; Thymalin is used in short annual courses to support immune function and healthy aging.

Different from Thymosin Alpha-1 (a single defined peptide); Thymalin is a thymic peptide complex.

What It Does

Thymalin is a polypeptide bioregulator extracted from the thymus, developed in the Khavinson (Russian) bioregulator program.

It supports T-cell production and immune regulation, with reported longevity benefits in long-term Russian studies.

Used as short pulsed courses rather than continuous dosing.

Reconstitution Calculator

Enter the vial amount and diluent volume to calculate concentration. If you already have a target amount, you can also convert it to liquid volume and syringe markings. This tool does not recommend a target amount.

Calculated concentration—Enter both values above.
Optional conversion

Enter a target amount you already have and select the syringe capacity.

Calculated draw—Enter concentration inputs and a target amount.

Mathematical reference only. The calculator does not determine an appropriate target amount. Syringe capacity only changes the maximum volume that fits.

Protocol

PhaseFrequencyAmountNotes
Course (10 days)Daily5–10 mgIM or SubQ. Standard Khavinson course = 10 mg/day × 10 days (100 mg total).
Between courses––Repeat every 6 months (healthy) or every 3–4 months (immune-compromised).
Cycle & Timing

10-day course, repeated every 6 months as the standard Khavinson protocol.

Timing

any time of day. Note: a thymic peptide complex, not the same as the single-peptide Thymosin Alpha-1, though their immune aims overlap.

Population Considerations

Unisex immune bioregulator, short courses, same in both sexes. Avoid in pregnancy.

Handling & Stacking

Injection site
IM or SubQ. Rotate.
Storage
Freeze-dried: -4°F. Reconstituted: 36–46°F, use within the 10-day course; potency itself is a community estimate near ~2–4 weeks, so the short course stays well inside it.
Side effects
Generally well tolerated, mild injection-site reaction. Rare allergic response.
What to expect
  • Immune support over the course; longevity benefits are based on long-term Russian cohort data rather than Western RCTs.
  • Supply math 10mg → 10 vials (one 10-day course @ 10 mg/day = 100 mg)
Pairs well with
Thymosin Alpha-1 (immune); Epithalon (longevity bioregulator pairing); other Khavinson bioregulators in a course
Avoid
Active autoimmune flare (immune modulation). Organ-transplant immunosuppression. Pregnancy

Safety & Patient Education

Contraindications
Active autoimmune disease flare Organ transplant / deliberate immunosuppression Pregnancy and lactation Hypersensitivity to thymic peptides
Warnings
Immune modulation, could theoretically aggravate autoimmune conditions Most evidence is from Russian studies; limited Western RCT data Quality varies, request a COA
Drug interactions
Immunosuppressants/biologics: opposing immune effects, coordinate with a clinician No well-characterized small-molecule interactions
Labs
CBC with differential (immune cell trends) if used for immune goals Monitor any autoimmune condition
Stop criteria
Autoimmune flare Allergic reaction Persistent injection-site reaction
Patient education
Used as short pulsed courses, repeated 1–2×/year; not continuous Different from Thymosin Alpha-1 (single peptide) though both are immune-focused Evidence base is largely Russian cohort data Request a COA; source quality matters
