Overview
Sterile water with a tiny amount of preservative (0.9% benzyl alcohol).
This is what most peptides get mixed with.
Stays sterile ~28 days once you’ve punctured the vial. That’s a contamination limit, not a potency one: the preservative stops bacteria growing, it does nothing for the peptide’s own shelf life. How long the peptide stays potent is on its own page.
What It Does
Sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol preservative, the standard solvent for reconstituting most freeze-dried peptides.
Benzyl alcohol at 0.9% is bacteriostatic (prevents bacterial multiplication) without being cytotoxic at the volumes used.
Reconstitution
| Vial Size | BAC Water / Solvent | Concentration |
|---|---|---|
| 10 ml / 30 ml | Pre-mixed solution | 0.9% benzyl alcohol in sterile water |
Reconstitution Calculator
Enter the vial amount and diluent volume to calculate concentration. If you already have a target amount, you can also convert it to liquid volume and syringe markings. This tool does not recommend a target amount.
Enter a target amount you already have and select the syringe capacity.
Mathematical reference only. The calculator does not determine an appropriate target amount. Syringe capacity only changes the maximum volume that fits.
Handling & Stacking
- Benzyl alcohol allergy is rare but documented; switch to preservative-free sterile water if confirmed.
- Contraindicated in neonates due to gasping syndrome from benzyl alcohol toxicity.
- IGF-1 LR3 family (use 0.6% acetic acid).
- Neonates (benzyl alcohol toxicity).
- Patients with confirmed benzyl alcohol allergy (use preservative-free sterile water for single-use only).
